How's it done?
I work with both natural light and my portable studio lights, as required. I can set up my lights anywhere; from your office, home, to locations outdoor. The space would ideally be a minimum of 10 x 10 feet, that's about 3 x 3 meters. Your choice of backgrounds in black, white, and off-white.
Following the photography session, you will receive a link to your web gallery to select your favorite images. Your final selection will go through my professional editing process and quality control. Temporary blemishes, stray eyebrows, cat hairs, etc, are all dealt with so that the focus remains on your expression. All images are optimised for brightness, colour and contrast.

FAQs
How do I book a session?
The easiest way to start is via the contact page. Tell me a little about what you're after, and how many need to be photographed, and I'll put together a tailored quote. In the meantime you can get an idea of the rates directly on the prices page. Once the details have been discussed, I'll send over a contract to sign online and a deposit invoice to confirm your date.
Do you hold my date before I've paid?
Dates go on a first-come basis, and slots are confirmed with a signed contract and transfer of a deposit. I'm not able to hold a date exclusively before then, so if you've got a fixed day in mind, it's worth getting the paperwork checked nice and early.
Where do you shoot, and do you travel?
I'm based in North London and work across the city with my portable lights.
What deposit do you take?
A 50% deposit secures your booking, with the balance due on the photo session day. Everything is laid out clearly in your contract, so there are no surprises.
How does your pricing work?
Every quote is built around what you actually need. Your fee covers the shoot itself, my guidance on the day, and the final edited images. If the photos are going to be used commercially, a usage licence is priced accordingly by how the images are used.
How does a team headshot session work?
I come to you and set up a full portable studio on site, so your team can be photographed in one smooth, organised session without leaving the office. Each person gets a time slot in front of the camera with my guidance throughout, then everyone chooses their favourites from a private online gallery. Your selections go through my full, true-to-life editing process before final delivery. My sessions are designed to be quick for each person and easy for whoever's coordinating it.
How much space do you need to set up?
Ideally a room of at least 10 x 10 feet, roughly 3 x 3 metres. That's enough for the backdrop and lighting with a little room to work. If you're not sure whether your space works, send me a quick photo or the dimensions and I'll be happy to advise.
What backgrounds can we choose from?
Black, white, off-white, or location background. A consistent background across the whole team keeps everyone's headshots looking cohesive on your website and profiles, which is usually what works best for a company. If you'd like different people on different backgrounds, we can organise this before the shooting date.
Do you use natural light or studio lighting?
I work with whichever light source suits the space and the look you're after. I bring portable studio lights that can be set up anywhere, from an office or meeting room to your home or an outdoor location.
How many people can you photograph in a session?
That depends on how much time we have and the look you're going for. Tell me your headcount and I'll recommend whether a half-day or full day fits best, so no one feels rushed and we keep things moving promptly. Every quote is built around your team size and the number of images required per person.
What if some of our team are nervous in front of the camera?
That's completely normal, most of us don't spend much time being photographed. I guide everyone through the whole thing, from a few simple tips before the session to clear direction on the day, so people relax and we capture them at their best. Getting a good, natural shot is my specialty.
How much retouching is included?
Each final image goes through my professional editing and quality control. Temporary distractions like blemishes, stray eyebrow hairs, or a bit of lint on a collar are all taken care of, and every image is optimised for brightness, colour, and contrast, so the focus stays on each person's expression. The aim is polished and natural, never overdone.
How do people choose their photos?
After the session, everyone receives a link to a private web gallery to pick their favourite shots. Those chosen images then go through editing before final delivery.
Can new starters be added later to match the rest of the team?
Yes. I can photograph new team members in a later session and edit them to match your existing set, so your headshots stay consistent as the team grows. Just get in touch when you need a top-up and we'll arrange it.
How long until we receive the final images?
Final edited headshots are delivered within an agreed-upon timeframe from the session date and highly depends on the number of individuals photographed. If you're working to a deadline, let me know before you book and I'll confirm what's achievable.
Who owns the headshots, and where can we use them?
Copyright stays with the author, MP Photography & Design, and your licence covers the use we agree on, typically company websites, team profiles, and professional platforms like LinkedIn. If you also need them for wider promotional or printed use, just tell me and I'll match the right licence in the quote.
