How to Prepare for Your Headshot Session

Headshot sessions take place at your preferred location, indoors or outdoors. I'll always photograph you in a pre-selected area we agree on in advance.

If you have booked an individual headshot session, we will have time to discuss and evaluate your style preferences before the session takes place.

Clothing

My best tip is that you have to love your outfit. If you don't feel comfortable in it, you most likely won't shoot as well while wearing it. I suggest preparing a range of different cuts, colours, and necklines. For corporate looks, it helps to bring a variety of combinations — jackets, shirts, ties, blouses, dresses, knitwear, whatever suits the image you want to project. Mix and match so we have options on the day.

I'd suggest keeping jewellery to a minimum: studs or small earrings and simple necklaces work well, while anything hanging or chunky tends to draw attention to itself. That said, if bold pieces are part of your style, please bring them. If you wear glasses and have more than one pair, do bring them along so we can check each pair's glare factor. Please have any wrinkles sorted before we start shooting.

Hair and Make-Up

Please have your hair styled the way you'd like to present yourself. Make-up isn't required, so wear as much or as little as you like. If you'd like to use my make-up artist, please let me know as early as possible during booking, as there's an additional cost to arrange it for your session.
