Good to know:
Professional photography, like music, literature, tv, software, brands etc. works on a licensing based system. In the UK, the photograph is automatically copyrighted once it’s been made by the Photographer, so the Photographer owns the image.
A Usage licence will be provided to you with details of how the photograph will be used, and by whom. If you have a smaller budget, the usage allowed will be adjusted to accomodate that budget. The more usage requirements, the higher the cost. Less usage requirements, the lower the cost. I always suggest only purchasing usage for what you really intend to use it for. This way the cost can be kept down for you. You can always add usage at a later date for a particular need on only the images you need it for.
